Marcus Whitman Central School District
SEI is currently working with the District on their latest project, a $29 million capital improvement project. A significant amount of time was spent in developing the project during the pre-referendum phase, which led to a successful vote.
This current project includes repairs/updates to include: parking lots, roofs, classrooms, kitchens, cafeteria, auditorium, gymnasium, locker rooms, pool area, bathrooms, playground, entrances, athletic fields, windows and doors along with HVAC, electrical, plumbing, etc.
There is approximately $9 million of proposed work between Gorham Elementary and Valley-Middlesex Primary. There is approximately $800,000 worth of proposed work at the transportation facility. A majority of the proposed work is at the high school, middle school and FLSS (BOCES wing).
The high school building work includes the gymnasium, cafeteria, and auditorium. Sitework at the high school includes new tennis courts and two new soccer and lacrosse fields to the area between the track/athletic field and the transportation center. These fields will provide an improved playing surface as well as easier access for those fans who have trouble accessing their current upper fields. The work in that area would also include a new parking lot between the new fields and a new concession/bathroom/storage facility.
The design phase of the project will occur over the course of the next year, which will include the work of multiple committees. The goal is to go out to bid in the winter/spring of 2019 with an anticipated start date for construction in late spring/early summer of 2019.
