An $8.2 million capital improvement project was approved by Brasher Falls Central School District voters last night.  The project includes replacement of the heating system, repair and replacement of old, deteriorated infrastructure, and replacement of 60-year old electrical distribution systems.  These improvements will increase both the safety and usefulness of the school facilities.

It’s official!  Genesee Fed, SEI Design Group’s 2011 Canstruction entry is a winner!  We were happy to have some of the team members, sponsors, and guests celebrating with us at the Award Gala Event.  Rochester City School District Principal Kathleen Denaro and Charles Nash from Edison enjoyed the event with the SEI folks. Brad Moreland – team captain, and team members Charles Nash, Kiel Wobser, Kelly Wobser, and Steve Staveski accepted the award for BEST USE OF LABELS.

Perhaps a good lesson for our next Canstruction???

Canned Pie got an honorable mention at the Canstruction Awards Dinner on Friday. Eric and Justin display the award. We have been fortunate to have generous sponsors who have  financially supported this charitable activity. Our big piece of lemon meringue pie will be donating over 5,000 cans to Foodlink when deconstructed. The total for the activity will be 36,000+ cans.  We would like to take this opportunity to thank our sponsors: M/E Engineering, Energy Concepts, Engineered Solutions, Day Automation, Appel Osborne, Torchia Structural Engineering, and Christa Construction.

After the much planned and anticipated Canstruction Build Day, the results of the SEI team build are in below.  As always, you can click to enlarge the photos.  Judging is today, but results will not be announced until the award dinner on Friday.  Wonder how many calories in that piece of lemon meringue pie?

Nothing is ever boring at SEI Design.  This week, activity kicked into high gear on Canstruction, a great charity event. This is a design build competition for design professionals and students using cans.   All the building materials (canned goods) get donated to food kitchens at the end of the event.  At a team strategy session Wednesday night, we determined that it would be unlikely that someone could come up with a tasty meal out of the cans we are using in the competition.  If you see it differently, and have a unique way of putting together sauerkraut, spaghetti sauce, beans, olives, and pineapple juice, we welcome your ideas.  If you convince us that you can come up with something appetizing, we will be glad to send you a token of our appreciation.
