If you're interested, look up the 'Bilboa Effect'. Gehry's buildings are somewhat pleasing to the eye, yet we might want to think about how his buildings may not reflect the surrounding site and infrastructure. They clearly reflect his own style and previous works.

Rats!! Frank Gehry keeps stealing all my ideas before I can think of them! No one ever said architectural space had to be a box. New technologies are precursors to new designs, they build it because they can. The Eiffel Tower was hated when first built...it was new technology. You hate it or love it, but it's something to admire either way.

Gehry has some very off-the-wall designs, but they are definitely icons for the communities which house them. His Peter B. Lewis building at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, OH. is an interesting juxtaposition of brick and metal panel skin. A slight variation on his Bilbao Guggenheim and Disney Opera House designs. The interior volumes are spectacular in that building. It is a pretty good stop to make if you are in Cleveland.

Gehry did the Richard B. Center at Bard College in Red Hook (next to Poughkeepsie) and it's a nice example of his work localy- ethang - we are looking at geothermal heating and cooling, passive and active solar energy, sustainable finishes and construction methods for the Poughkeepsie Public Library project.

I think that the fact that this contest ends on my birthday is a sign, a sign from Gehry God.
