When you simply must have a robot for yourself or a gift, check out Nerdbots.  There are creative and unique robots for your enjoyment.  Our favorite is Norman the Doorman.

If you don’t use Alltop yet, you simply must check it out.   Alltop is a product of Guy Kawasaki and friends.  The clean, uncluttered site collects the stories of the top news websites and blogs for many topics and displays headlines of the five most recent stories.   If you scroll over a headline, you can see part of the story so that you can decide if you’d like to read it.  There are many topics and they are adding topics daily.  We are usually aware of the new topics through Guy and Neenz on Twitter, but also have their RSS feed on our Google home page, so we don’t miss anything.  SEI is proud to be listed under architecture and design on Alltop.

Do you love the website Woot as much as we do? There is one deal per day and there are some great buys on cool stuff. There is a blog with descriptions of the items which can be sarcastic and humorous and there is a very active community forum. Right now there is a “Woot Off” going on! In a “Woot Off”, orange lights are flashing and they list an item until it runs out and then immediately list another item. You can get things at unbelievable prices, but sometimes the popular things sell out in a few minutes. Sign up quickly in case your dream item appears today.

Are you taking a flight?  Just type the airline and flight number into Google and select the link for FlightAware.  It will give you up to date information including tracking the flight.

We (SEI) have only been on LinkedIn a short while, but some of us find it very beneficial.  Within days of joining, we started to hear from business associates we had lost touch with. If you haven’t joined LinkedIn yet, spend a few minutes and get connected.  This article about LinkedIn founder, Reid Hoffman should convince you.

Improve your searching ability by adding a few quick techniques to your arsenal.                                     1) Put your search phrase in "quotes".                    2) Use the Google menu to narrow your search to images, news, etc.                3) Use a minus sign (-) to eliminate a word.

Yapta can track prices before or after you buy airplane tickets to get best prices and see if you are entitled to a refund if the ticket price goes down.  Linkedin is a social media  network for connecting with business contacts and colleagues.  Woot is an online store and community that sells cool stuff cheap.

Check out Price Protectr, a free site that can save you $$. Register your purchase with them and they will watch for price drops, and email you within the price guarantee period.  For example, if you buy a computer at Best Buy or any of the 60 stores they cover, and the price gets reduced, they email you.  This could be worth alot on large ticket items.  Their blog also has lots of current deals.  And while  you are there,  you may want to enter their contest to Name the Owl, their mascot, and win a $400 shopping spree!
