There was a very nice article about Brenna in the paper!  Brenna has done a great job establishing a local NY chapter of the Tears Foundation.  Brenna and the group are planning the Rock and Walk fundraiser on May 26th – contact her for more info.   Way to go, Brenna!

It’s official!  Genesee Fed, SEI Design Group’s 2011 Canstruction entry is a winner!  We were happy to have some of the team members, sponsors, and guests celebrating with us at the Award Gala Event.  Rochester City School District Principal Kathleen Denaro and Charles Nash from Edison enjoyed the event with the SEI folks. Brad Moreland – team captain, and team members Charles Nash, Kiel Wobser, Kelly Wobser, and Steve Staveski accepted the award for BEST USE OF LABELS.

We want to take this opportunity to say thanks again to our sponsors: Engineered Solutions, M/E Engineering, Watchdog, Campus Construction Management, Walmart, and Genesee Brewing Company for contributing to this event.

As in 2010, 2009, and 2008, the Rochester office of SEI Design Group participated in the The Chase Corporate Challenge 2011.  Congrats to all who finished the race and thanks to Team Captain Ted Mountain who got us a prime spot for our tent.

The Albany office( and friends) participated in 2 events this spring, the most recent being the Friehofers Run shown here.

As in 2009, and 2008, SEI Design Group participated in the The Chase Corporate Challenge 2010.  Congrats to all who finished the race despite the rain during the race.  As the race was finishing, the sun appeared and there was a beautiful rainbow.  Team Captain Ted Mountain says he doesn’t smoke, but here is Smokin’ Hot Ted in all his glory at the end of his 5K run.

Congratulations to the Taconic Hills Central School District on their successful referendum!  The $15 million capital improvement project includes repairs and upgrades to district facilities, fitness center expansion, and athletic fields improvements.  SEI Design Group is pleased to be the architect on this exciting project.

As always, we want to be sure you are celebrating Earth Day.  Earth Day is s a day designed to inspire awareness and appreciation for the Earth’s environment.   You can find numerous activities and information on the Earth Day Official Government site.  The U.S. Green Building Council (we are a proud member) is another resource for education and information and you can also visit Earth Day Network.

Amid our mimosas and holiday cheer, we wanted to wish you all a Happy New Year!  It has been a great year and we wish you and your family the best.  Our holiday parties were a great success this year, with one at Camines in Albany and the other at Bistro 135 in Rochester.  The Albany office definitely outdid everyone by getting their pictures taken with Mayor Jerry Jennings.  Way to go, guys!!

Canned Pie got an honorable mention at the Canstruction Awards Dinner on Friday. Eric and Justin display the award. We have been fortunate to have generous sponsors who have  financially supported this charitable activity. Our big piece of lemon meringue pie will be donating over 5,000 cans to Foodlink when deconstructed. The total for the activity will be 36,000+ cans.  We would like to take this opportunity to thank our sponsors: M/E Engineering, Energy Concepts, Engineered Solutions, Day Automation, Appel Osborne, Torchia Structural Engineering, and Christa Construction.

After the much planned and anticipated Canstruction Build Day, the results of the SEI team build are in below.  As always, you can click to enlarge the photos.  Judging is today, but results will not be announced until the award dinner on Friday.  Wonder how many calories in that piece of lemon meringue pie?
