Eric has broken Jimmi’s chance at the “3rd times a charm” Valentine Contest run.  Jimmi still holds the record for the most Valentine wins, but Eric, is the proud owner of the new gumball machine (bank) and $20 (less whatever he spent to fill it).   Michele was masterminding all the items that could fit in the machine, and her eyes were rolling with cheery thoughts of shopping at Wegmans, but Eric would not allow that, and had to shop himself.  The actual number of hearts before the Rochester crew started to devour them was 315.  For those who did not win, be sure to have your gravatar ready for the next contest (can you say St. Patty’s Day?).

It’s about that time again, and this is a super easy contest!  Guess how many candy hearts in the jar. Submit your entry by February 10th by leaving a comment below. Entries will only count if you have a gravatar.  You may only enter 1 time.  In the case of a tie, the earliest entry will win, so don’t delay.  The winner will be awarded this gumball machine and some moolah to keep it stocked.  This contest is open to all including SEI staff, friends and family.

Happy Valentine’s Day from SEI!  In honor of the occasion we have a contest for you!  While we are usually known for flying monkeys and other flying animals, this this time we are talking “frogs”.  This will be the easiest contest you have ever entered.  Simply enter a comment about Valentine’s Day, frogs, or being green.  You may comment more than once, but only your first comment will enter you in the drawing.  To receive an extra entry, subscribe to our RSS (green box) and be sure to confirm once you get the email.  That’s it!  To get a better look at the prize we are giving away, check out the video!  Contest ends 2/24/09.

It’s that time of year when we have a contest associated with Valentine’s Day.  This year our contest will begin on Valentine’s Day!  Hopefully you have already thought about your sweetie(s) and planned for the special day, but in case you didn’t, your friendly SEI blogger has some suggestions for you:  Preorder a Kindle 2.  This device has built in 3G wireless for the life of the gadget and can hold a zillion books.  Good for the environment.  Very lightweight and easy to read even in sunlight.  Check out the videos.  Of course the best gadget of all time, the iPod Touch, is the best gift for Valentine’s Day.  Gift cards for spa treatments, iTunes, and Amazon are always welcome.  You can also look at the last minute gift ideas we had before the holiday, and if all else fails, traditional candy and flowers might work.

With the passing of Valentine’s Day, it is only appropriate to mention CHOCOLATE.  Of course at SEI, it is appropriate to mention chocolate every day!  This video of a study from John’s Hopkins proves what Vic always dreamed was true.  Chocolate helps you have a healthy heart.  Of course, they specify "in small portions".

Well, the judges are done and ready to announce the Valentine’s Contest winners.  Thanks to all the contestants for entering.  Jimmi Van Schaffel took first place and wins the Barry White Singing Monkey. Honorable mention and a $15 Stabucks card go to Jenna Maine, Karen Caruso and Paula Loiacano.  Entries will be revealed at Monday’s Staff Meeting.  Congratulations to all!
